Joseph H. Geiger, FCSIJoseph H. Geiger has 35+ years of experience as a food service
facility design professional. His projects range from K-12 schools, colleges
and universities to health care facilities, retirement centers, country clubs,
restaurants, corporate facilities, and correctional institutions.Mr. Geiger's background included new facilities, renovations, and the
expansion of existing facilities. His services involve determination of space
needs, food service equipment selections; kitchen, bar, cafeteria, and dining
room layouts; plumbing and electrical connection layouts; equipment
installation; and final inspection.Prior to forming his own firm in the late 1979, Mr. Geiger held positions as
a food facility designer for Southern Equipment and Foremost McKesson
(both St. Louis and Chicago); pharmacy designer for McKesson-Robbins;
and manager of the layout and design department and cabinet shop for Stern
Fixture Company, all based in St. Louis.A member of Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI), Mr. Geiger
is extremely active on the lecture circuit and in related industry groups.
He has lectured on food service facility design at Saint Louis University, the
Florissant Valley and Forest Park campuses of St. Louis Community College
and just recently spoke before the American School Food Service Association
(ASFSA) at the industry council in New Orleans. He has participated in
numerous panel discussions before professional groups and was one of three
speakers across the country featured at the International Restaurante Y
Hoteleria's 1992 Forum/Panel/Work-shop in Mexico City.In addition to the Missouri and Illinois School Food Service Association
(MSFA and ISFSA), St. Louis School Food & Nutrition Directors Association
(SFNDA) Mr. Geiger is a past member of the American Correctional Food
Service Association. He is a former president of the Kirkwood (Mo.) chapter
of Rotary International, former chairman of Professional Affiliates Committee
of the St. Louis chapter of the American Institute of Architects and Industry
Director of the St. Louis School Food & Nutrition Director's Association.
